Hello,I just purchased from Intelius a Reverse Phone Number Lookup. The price advertised is .99 cents. It also asked me if I would like to lookup another number which I did, assuming the cost would also be .99 cents. Well to my surprise; after entering my credit card number, they charged me much more. Please see the details below. I copy and pasted from their website. The total charged is $39.84. What can I do?

These people are predators, Do no business with them, they will scr*w you. You will be signed up for services you don't even know you have, and when you call to stop it, they will offer you the same sh*t discounted. LOW LIFES

The exact same thing happened to me. When I called to let them know that the information they gave me was incorrect (verified through more traditional methods), they pretty much said ok, sorry about that.

When I thought I was only paying a one time fee of around $10, they actually charged me for a membership of $20 a month. I said I had no intention of being a member, I just wanted a one time lookup.

they said they would cancel my account but wouldn't refund my membership. I never used the additional services provided by the month of membership I paid for.

What a freaking SCAM !!! They never tell you that your siging up for a membership as soon as you use their services.They charge my credit card double the amount of money for the last 3 months when i was under the impression that is was a one time fee of 1.99.

I just got off the phone w/ them and had it canceled! and the information i was provided with wasn't even the correct one!!

I should get the better business beauroe involved ! What a RIP OFF !!!

you should do what I did contact their customer service and threaten to report them to consumer protection if they don't refund your money. Then if they don't follow through with it. Thats what I plan to do.
