Charged two different intelius accts +valuemax
I got charged for two not one intelius acct, plus a ValueMax membership number, and I also have a DealMax membership number, and I also have a Savings Club membership number. Where did all these membership numbers come from? I was able to cancel ValueMax but DealMax and SavingsClub seems to have no way of canceling there mystery accts. I also plan to cancel Intelius also! All these charges came right before Christmas time disabling me from having a proper Christmas, now my girlfriend thinks I have something on the side because I said I did`nt know where the money went! Im not a happy camper!!!!
Intelius in Bakersfield, California - Unautorized charges to my debit card
I used Intelius twice for a people search on 7/27/09 and 9/14/09 and should have been charged $4.95 and $39.95. I have been charged a total of $159.60 so far. I have emailed them and they said they would reverse the charges but have not done so. I have contacted BBB and now I'm going to see an attorney, this is so wrong and it needs to stop!! some of the charges are from 24 plus and ID Protect which I did not authorize any of these charges except for the first two
IDProtect ID Protect Intellius I had the same charge - .99 for a report, then a week later, ID Protect charge of $20+/-. Reputable internet businesses do not convolute their customers web experience with unasked for services with auto-renewal fees. That is poor...View full review
Intelius in Roxboro, North Carolina - Do people read anymore seriously stop complaining!!!
Intelius-Intelius.com stole $19.95 from me when I used their service for a one-time search. These people do not ask, explain or make clear any intention to hold you to an agreement to sign up for their monthly service. I do not want their service. I had a one-time use...View full review
Intelius in West Hartford, Connecticut - Scammers. DO NOT EVER USE!!!
Intelius is a scam. I ordered a report based on a unique social security number and last and first name. The report returned 151 unrelated searches impossible to comb through and I did not receive information about a person I was looking for. Customer representative manager was useless to the best. Very polite but useless nonetheless. She insisted that despite advertised search by a unique identifier I should be happy that I received so much useless information and I all I had to do is throw it way or get a credit to run another useless search. They CAN only search by last, first name!!! Never ever use them again.
Intelius in Las Vegas, Nevada - Automatic $19.95 membership without consent
Paid $4.95 to get the owner's name on a cell phone number. Credit card was charged $4.95 PLUS $19.95 for some bogus "membership" that I didn't agree to. They use very tricky wording on their website. You have to work your way through a landmine of trickery where they try to get you to agree to one bogus membership or another. Finally, when you have successfully avoided the minefield of trickery, your credit card GETS CHARGED ANYWAY! It's disappointing that companies like this are allowed to operate. They intentionally scam people with these $19.95 "memberships" and know from their research that only x% of people will contest the charges.
Intelius in Bakersfield, California - Don't get anything from this company
I signed up just to get one phone number and they charged me $1.95 and then signed me up for a id protect service. They said I signed up and took their trail offer. No I didn't. Total scam. Then I called and they accused me of signing up for their service and got upset when I called it a scam. They take your money. I hope someone takes them to court. Very corrupt company. They take advantage of people just wanting phone numbers. This is what is wrong with this country when people can keep ripping people of like this.
Intelius is listing my wife alive when she is dead
Intelius is listing my wife (Penny G. Maillet) as living in Hawthorne, Nevada. They list her age and other "information" when the fact is, that she has been dead for almost 31 years. She and my oldest daughter (Michelle) were killed in a car accident in Redding, Calif. on january 3rd. 1979. We lived in Hawthorne back in 1975 and 76. We then moved to Redding and lived there until they were killed. I ran into this "information" by accident, and it highly upset me. How can they do something like that without verifying thir data. Someone needs to fix this. Patrick Maillet.
Intelius in Dallas, Texas - Pissed doesn't even come close
I also have the same monthly charges showing up on my back account from Intelius and Valmax. After using the site to look up info on a phone number, apparently these companies are then free to deduct charges from your account for bogus services. My bank (BOA) was not helpful and told me to call the companies directly. There was nothing the bank could do. After waiting on hold for a long time I was told that only the last month was refundable from Intelius but Valmax agreed to refund two charges. This was 3 days ago and I still haven't had any charges removed from my account so I'm not convinced this will solve the problem.
