Fine Print on Intelius Agreement

I too, have used Intellus for a .99 search. I carefully read the agreement, and noted that I was signing up for a $19.95 monthly fee to look up any information I wanted, anytime I wanted. After I received the information I was looking for, I immediately called Intellus to cancel my account. I read in the agreement that I had 7 days to cancel, but did it immediately. So far, I haven't been charged anything, but I check my account everyday. When I cancelled the account, I made sure to write down the name of the person I spoke to, the date, and the time.

Intelius

Intulis is a complete tottal rip off. They give faulty information AND THEY OVER CHARGE YOU. I would not recommend this site. i was very disapointed with them and on top of it when i confronted them about being over charged they told me they couldnt do anything and refused to get their boss!! i was charged FOUR times in a week at a total of $300. when they said it would only be "19.95" for it. And a SEVEN day trial. They lie about their trial and when you sign up and they argue with you over the account. Be AWARE THE JUST WANT TO STEAL YOUR MONEY!!!!

Intelius membership scam

Apparently like many other people, I signed on to Intelius for a one-time person search for $2.95, of course giving them my credit card number. Eventually I realized that they were charging me $19.95 per month membership fee, which I had no intent of signing up for. I called them and they agreed to cancel the membership and refund the second month's fee, but refused to reimburse me for the first $19.95 charge. It wasn't much money, but it sure is irritating to get tricked into a membership by their deceptive business practices. After I wrote them a complaint letter, telling them I was contacting my state's attorney general office, they did finally refund the first month's charge. My state Attorney General did write a complaint letter to Intelius. If you get roped into an unintended membership by Intelius, spend a few minutes to hold them responsible for being scam artists, and pursue it until you get your money back. It won't put these jerks out of business, but it might make you feel a little better.

Intelius ceo being honored. please stop this abomination

hi, like you, I have been scammed by intelius too.. was deducted $19.95 for three months. (60 bucks can buy a lot of grocery for for a struggling college kid!) It makes my blood boil when I see the founder and CEO of Intelius-Naveen Jain being nominated for the light of india awards at http://www.lightofindiaawards.com/lightofindia2011/jsp/nominee_popup.jsp (see the second entry under nominees for business leadership) please email the organizers at info@lightofindiaawards.com or call them if you can. we must stop this guy from being honored and expose him for who he is. this guy has made millions by scamming us and we cannot let this happen.

Intelius is a scam .lied about having any info for me.

Called Intelius service to get info on back ground check on myself, Rep said they had what I needed, but I had to pay with credit card first. I paid and they didn't have what they said,They Lied to me about my info until I paid them.I asked them to not charge my credit card because they didn't have what they promised . Then they tried to tell me I misunderstood what they said. This is a scam. Warming do not use this service , you will lose your money. There should be some kind of law against people decieving you into paying for a service they don't provide.

Be careful with Intelius, they trick you into membership!

I just had one time need for looking up a phone number, so I used Intelius that promises you to find all kinds of info. associated with the phone number. They have two choices, one charges $4.99, the other is $19.95. Since I just need it once, I chose the $4.99. After my search, the promised info. was not there! It just told me where the area is, which I can find out for any phone number for free! Then the worse thing is, they started charing me monthly $19.95, which I found out 2 months later through my credit card statement, so they just enrolled me as a member! I called the custom service and was told i have an active membership and the charges were not reversible! Luckily I noticed it or else I'd be paying them regularly every month! It's just ridiculous, and Intelius website is very sneaky, so be extremely careful if you have to use their service. I'll never use Intelius again, it sucks!! I'm sure there are other honest search companies than Intelius.

Intelius

Intelius has listed individuals as my relatives that I am not related to with surnames different from mine/ this was in the personal report which they offer for 95 cents I bought on myself. This false and misleading information has been disseminnated to who knows where and all without my permission. In addition, I later received an email welcoming me to their identity theft protection plan which I had not ordered. They said it was automatically included however it was not in the itemized total. The total was $ 10.90, 95 cents for one report and $9.95 for another report. When I called in about it they explained that it had been automatically added because of the discount I received on the 95 cents report. I did not see it listed anywhere. They removed the identity theft subscription by phone. They need a good class action served against them to stop their trechery. Any volunteers to serve as class representative and call a lawyer and post a blog, so others can join in.... if so count me in. STOP THIS INTELIUS TRECHARY ONCE AND FOR ALL!

Intelius in Quinlan, Texas - Made unauthorized charges

Just a follow up on a previous complaint. The company, or sewage dump they call a company, will get a surprise when they try debiting my account again. I don't worry about the $19.95 they have already swindled. I can live with that and not look back. These jerks will have to live with the fact that they are a bunch of *** idiots who think they can go one forever with this scam. Think again jerks! Oh well! What can you expect from a slim pit called, INTELLIUS. Who thought up that name? Wonder if he/she/it made it through the 3rd grade?
